“Want to Heal… Learn to Breathe”
-Ana T. Forrest

I ask my college students to list the 5 things they cannot live without. Cell Phone comes out on top just about every time. Air hardly ever makes the list. Asking the question again, What does your body need to stay alive? The answers usually include air, water, food, heat, and shelter. Good answers. If the one thing you absolutely need is to breathe, and to go 10 min without it means absolute death, then we should never forget that the most important thing is to breathe. And how vitally important it is for this air to be clean and pure. With the intensity of this one thing that keeps us alive, it is the one thing that can also transform us. Feel the power of your breath…

I first met Ana Forrest when I googled her for the first time in December 2010. Big changes were happening in my life and the only thing that was holding it together was my daily yoga practice. I was a teacher in almost everything I’ve done in my life, so I resisted for 8 years to become a yoga teacher, it was my sacred practice. However, I needed a strong medicine, something that merged my native american ceremony and nature understanding with healing. I found Ana on the web and read about her teachings. I had not yet seen her demonstrations otherwise I think I might have thought twice about the super flexible inverted woman I was going to meet. An immediate affection took over as each word she spoke felt like she had lived my life, and understood. She has such an intuitive wisdom its uncanny, and I found that the 6 weeks I spent with Ana between Foundation and Advanced training had in fact transformed my life. The only question was how to fit back into it, and what was it anyway all of it was changing.

“My intent in teaching Yoga is to do my part in healing the Hoop of the People; to inspire people to clear through the stuff that hardens them and sickens their bodies, so they can walk freely and lightly on the earth in a healing way, in a beauty Way” – Ana Forrest

Ana Forrest has spent 30 years developing Forrest Yoga specifically to address physical and emotional stresses and challenges. Forrest Yoga gets you strong and centered by connecting you to your core. It uses heat, vigorous workouts and deep breathing to sweat out toxins. The long holds in the pose sequences help you flush, oxygenate and rejuvenate every cell. Forrest Yoga does not require strength or flexibility; it only requires that you bring a willingness to learn how to feel authentically and respond honestly. As you advance in Forrest Yoga, you learn to intelligently ride your breath into the thrilling advanced poses. you also exercise your emotional body through the full feeling spectrum; from the healing process all the way into the ecstatic realms.
