Sleep App measures effects of acupuncture

Posted on February 19, 2022February 19, 2022 by Blackcoy

My acupuncture client from yesterday has a device on her ring connected to her app. I didn’t know until her 75 minute session was over. This is impressive science. She got 40 min of sleep from her treatment. The periods of white are me putting in needles, doing moxa and cupping. And flipping her from back to front. Her CC- tailbone injury acute pain and Sjogrens. Perhaps it’s an investment for me, the Practitioner, and the Scientist to have one for my clinic! I am very happy with the 40 min of sleep register as she didn’t sleep but the effect of this medicine registered it as such. Proof Chinese Medicine works!

In order to put the segments in context, Patient is on table with me putting in needles for her tailbone and sacrum injury. the pause is me leaving her for 5 minutes to absorb the needles. The next white timeline block is me removing needles and the halfway blue/white is cupping, both sliding and retention on her back, shoulders, and lower sacrum area. The blue that follows for a few minutes is again, me leaving her a few minutes to absorb the treatment. Removing the cups and flipping her face up, with insertion of second set of needles, for her secondary concern and leaving her for at least 15-20 minutes to find the deep qigong breathing that I teach al of my patients on the table, as well as focusing into the treatment of breath, healing and resting. The last piece of white is the removing of needles, dressing and exiting the treatment. Each time I look at this captured moment it tells me how long I am doing each part of my treatment, and what her response is. So cool!
